WORLD TRADE CENTER PINGTAN

Pingtan is a comprehensive experimental zone under the jurisdiction of  Fujian Province. It locates in the east of Fujian Province, opposite to Taiwan. It’s the closest place to Taiwan from mainland China. Pingtan is the largest island of Fujian Province, the fifth-largest in China and it is also a famous fishing base. By the end of 2015, Pingtan household population is 430,000. Local government administration is located in Tancheng town.

The Pingtan comprehensive experimental zone includes Haitan island and its subsidiary islands. The land area of which is 392.92 square kilometers, and the sea area is 6064 square kilometers. In 2015, the registered population was 400,000; the GDP was 19.1 billion yuan (US$2.8 billion); per capita disposable income of urban residents was 30,728 yuan (US$4,519); per capita net income of farmers was 12,648 yuan (US$1,860); total tourism income was 655 million yuan (US$96 million) with over 2.3 million domestic and foreign tourists.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in China was worth 10793.62 billion US dollars in 2016 with an increase of 6.7%. China‘s socialist market economy is the world’s second largest economy by nominal GDP. China is the world‘s fastest-growing major economy, with growth rates averaging 10% over 30 years. Due to historical and political facts of China’s developing economy, China‘s public sector accounts for a bigger share of the national economy than the burgeoning private sector.
